Pepsi in Russia
Tough choice for this Monday and two unique chances to see two different movies. One is Russian indie film, titled Generation P(epsi), described on IMDB as “a chronicle of the rise of the advertising industry in Post-Soviet Russia”. Based on the book Generation “П”, (translated as Homo Zapiens or Babylon) by Russian author Victor Pelevin, the movie deals with “themes of post Soviet Russia, consumerism, recreational drug use and Mesopotamian mythology” (wiki). Screening starts at 20:30h in Paard van Troje (7e).
“Silent movies, Live Music” in Filmhuis is another choice for today. Yvo Verschoor provides musical background for two movies “A Dream or Two ago” with Mary Miles Minter, known as the princess of motion pictures and “Out Yonder” starring Olive Thomas, ‘the Marilyn Monroe of the early 20th century’. I’m thinking about reserving the tickets and going there at 19:30.
