MUSEUM NIGHT – Steady?

Still with me? Let’s go!

5. Museum Meermanno, Prinsessegracht 30

After a short walk, we will have a drink at the Roman camp. Spare an hour for this one to taste Roman flavors in the cooking workshop or learn how to order a beer during the Latin for Dummies lesson. But that’s not all, a clay scrub awaits in the Roman baths as well as centuries old massage techniques and aromatherapy. An archaeologist will tell you about the mysteries of The Roman Empire and you’ll collect a picture number two of the evening in a toga!

6. Volkspaleis, Grote Kerk (entrance Torenstraat)

This one we can visit from sundown to sunrise, from 10pm until 5am so I am still doubting whether to come back to it later. Either way, what we’ll see here is the Dutch premiere of Canadian artist Patrick Bernatchez’s monumental film project Lost in Time. Central to the exhibit is Mexican electronic artist Murcof’s adaption of Bach’s The Goldberg Variations.

7. Nutshuis, Riviervismarkt 5

Just accross the street, in Het Nutshuis, have a confession in a Club Holy, or as the organization suggests, “purify your soul, become as white as snow, free of blemishes, like a chaste bride as she goes to wed. Like a virgin! Or not…” Not to be missed!

8. Humanity House, Prinsegracht 8

A few steps futher down the road, Run like a Refugee, and step into another world by strapping on an Oculus Rift (virtual reality goggles). Alternatively, relax with comedian Nabil Aoulad Ayad (9:30pm, 10:30pm, 11:30pm), a singer, pianist and beatbox virtuoso!

9. Jenevermuseum van Kleef, Lange Beestenmarkt 109

Time for another drink, and tour of premises of the one-and-only gin and liqueur producer in town.
